How to create a 1 balloon Dog
Ah the one balloon dog. This was my very first balloon animal that I learned how to make, and let me tell you, it did not look good!
I first learned how to make balloon animals when I was about 10 years old. My dad was in the military and went TDY often, which as a little girl just meant to be that he was going to be gone for a while.
One thing I could always look forward to was his return. Both because I missed my dad and because he usually brought a present for me and my sister.
On one occasion he brought us a balloon animal making kit. I remember our whole family sitting around our dining room table trying to make a balloon dog. None of us were very good at it and we kept popping the balloons while trying to twist them. Eventually we got the hang of it and were even able to modify the dog design with a longer neck to make a giraffe.
I took a liking to these balloon dogs we made. I remember drawing all over them with different kinds of faces and playing with them in my room just like they were barbies.
These days my balloon making skills have progressed just a little bit further, and I don't often find myself making one balloon dogs anymore.
However, the one balloon dog will always have a special place with me, kind of like my gateway balloon into a whole world that I never would have known existed!
